One of the first flats to be built in the New Town by James Craig in 1790 and directly adjacent to the Edinburgh town house of Sir Walter Scott! Two bedrooms - one master, (with super king-size divan) and stunning castle views. One single (but just large enough for two with a single bed that pulls out to a three quarters size bed). large elegant lounge with two large windows, contemporary furnishings and decor with two comfortable sofas and a marble dining table and chairs for six. There is a large Sony flat screen TV.

Fully fitted contemporary, luxury kitchen with everything you would expect of a 5 star property and bathroom (both with lime stone throughout) steam shower, under-floor heating and limestone wet-room. The property comes with access to the private gardens on Queens Street, just two minutes from the front door.

The apartment is situated within easy walking distance of all major attractions; museums and galleries, shops and restaurants and is a five minute walk from a nearby private gym and pool.

I am a self employed, single, professional man aged 48 who has spent the last ten years working quite intensely. I’m now ready to spread my wings and explore other regions of the world, possibly with the view to setting up a second home somewhere. I’m based in Edinburgh when I’m not travel writing somewhere in the world and also let the apartment out on a commercial basis. As the apartment really is of a five star nature in a highly sought after location etc, I would be interested in receiving enquiries to a reciprocal standard. I’m open to offers from throughout the world and travel a lot - so don’t hold back! But could always do with a holiday near the beach! The apartment is vacant periodically throughout the year - just drop me a line to check.

SUPERB SITGES, SPAIN, SWAP with James & Emilio
http://www.homearoundtheworld.com/properties/3021

The apartment is a penthouse duplex in the center of Sitges, 5 minutes walk to Sin Street, the center of gay Sitges with dozens of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, and outdoor cafes. The in-town beaches are just a couple of minutes from the apartment with many sidewalk cafes and coffee bars available for a café con leche and a croissant on the way. The apartment is completely air conditioned with full laundry facilities and an elevator. The apartment sleeps two in a comfortably furnished bedroom with a private balcony and abundant closets. The bathroom is large, comfortable and is equipped with a large step-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and a large sunny terrace, with an awning covering for summer afternoons, is available for at home meals or entertaining. A flat-screen television, internet WIFI, and a CD player are available for use.

You will enjoy Sitges’ wide range of fine restaurants, the numerous sidewalk cafes, and the fabled nightlife. Sitges is also part of the Catalan wine country, with the surrounding area dotted with bodegas, country-style restaurants, and fascinating towns and villages. Sitges is for everyone, those who prefer the fun of crowded beaches, late-night bars, and non-stop activities and those who are looking for quiet, secluded coves, long strolls through the winding streets, or dinners for two at hidden eateries in ancient buildings.

We are an active married couple, American and Catalan, together for many years. We enjoy traveling in many parts of the world and would enjoy meeting others interested in an exchange of homes or an exchange of hospitality. We’ve been exchanging hospitality with friends for many years and would enjoy meeting others interested in visiting us in Sitges and that would like to host new friends in their own home town.

LOVELY LONDON HOME SWAP with Rob & Jonathan
Our home is a two bedroom Victorian terraced house, spread over 4 floors. We moved here two years are slowly restoring it; some rooms are therefore in a better state than others. The master bedroom and bathroom have been recently decorated, while the kitchen is currently basic but functional. We would like to swap with another couple, offering them the use of one bedroom and the whole of the rest of the house (one bathroom, double reception room, kitchen/dining room and garden.)

The house is located on a quiet residential street in Camberwell, in south London (about 2 miles from both Westminster Bridge and London Bridge). Burgess Park, one of the largest parks in south London, is on our doorstep. Activities available there include running, tennis, table tennis and even angling! If you like swimming, a short walk from the house you will also find Camberwell’s beautiful and newly restored Victorian public swimming pool.

We love living in Camberwell, and think you’ll agree that this is the best place from which to explore London. Our house is five minutes’ walk from the bus stop, from where buses (departing every 1-2 minutes during the day) will whisk you off to central London. Unlike the Tube, most bus routes also operate 24 hours. St Paul’s Cathedral, Houses of Parliament/Westminster Abbey, Covent Garden, Tower Bridge/Tower of London, Tate Modern, London Eye/London Aquarium and the Southbank Arts Centre are just some of the destinations that are only about 30 minutes or less by direct bus.

We are getting married in August, and are looking for a simultaneous home swap in New York for our honeymoon (about around 10-14 days in September 2014). We are therefore looking to swap our London house for an apartment in New York which sleeps two people and is fairly centrally located.

LOVELY CHICAGO HOME SWAP with Ken
http://www.homearoundtheworld.com/properties/2973

I just finished completely remodeling my one bedroom condo with 1 and 1/2 baths. It is in a midrise with a doorman on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. The views from the living room and bedroom are of the city, park (with a jogging/biking path, tennis courts, and softball courts) Lake Shore Drive, and the lake. The building also has a roof top deck and a beautifully landscaped private patio with several gas grills and tables and chairs.

East Lakeview is a beautiful residential neighborhood with everything you need within walking distance. The gay area, Boystown is a few blocks away on Halsted Street. Right in front of the building you can catch an express bus to take you downtown in 12 minutes where there is shopping on Michigan Avenue & Oak Street, fantastic restaurants, live theater, & museums.

I am a single gay man that works as a household manager for a family nearby. When they have school breaks they travel and I can take vacation time. I can travel anytime in August and between Christmas and January 5th. I like to visit NYC on long weekends when Monday is a national holiday. I am willing to do non-simultaneous swaps. I usually travel with a friend.

See HOME AROUND THE WORLD for details of this wonderful swap.
