Amazing Amsterdam apartment for home swap with Eva and Jan Jaap

The apartment in the heart of Amsterdam is on the first and second floor of an 16th century building. When you enter the apartment you will notice how peaceful the building is. The living room has a big and beautiful fireplace and the open kitchen is fully equipped. There are two double bedrooms. The master bedroom in the front of the building has a beautiful view on the canal. And the open bathroom is romantic and clean. The media room has a big screen, lot of CD’s and DVD’s (documentary lovers). You can play the piano and read our art books.

The apartment is in the centre of the city but remarkably quiet. Nearby one of the most beautiful squares in Amsterdam, the Nieuwmarkt. There you can find a lot of shops, bars and restaurants. Every saturday and sunday there is a lovely food and flea market on the Nieuwmarkt. It is also nice to visit the red light district and Chinatown.

The museums are within walking distance, but it is also a nice experience to rent a bike. The subway and central station are around the corner. You”ll love this neighborhood.

We are married and like to travel. I’m an actress and my husband is a comedian and producer. We love New York and hope to exchange our home in september, october, or november 2013, for 4 to 5 weeks.

Our apartment is modern (built 2006),light, comfortable and spacious in a lovely residential area about 15 minutes from central Stockholm. We have a well equipped kitchen, large bathroom with washer and drier and bath tub/shower. Main bedroom has a king size bed, guest room has a single bed and the children’s room has a junior sized bed and a cot. We can provide further matrasses if you are more than three adults. We also have a large, sunny balcony.

The apartment is in a trendy area called Telefonplan with an arts college, a trendy bar & restaurant and several smaller take away places and cafés nearby. There is also a gym and indoor climbing place within a five minute walk as well as smaller grocery shops. There are also several play grounds in the area and an outdoor pool.

We are a female gay couple with two small children ( 2 & 3 years old) who love to travel although it has become more difficult to do since the children arrived. We love good food, books, the arts as well as outdoor activities and beautiful nature. We also have a cat, which is a bit shy and probably won’t be included in the exchange.

We will of course take excellent care of your home and make sure that our children do too.

We are open to travel to most places that are reasonably children friendly. As one of us is a teacher we are usually bound to the school holidays (June-July, December, late February and Easter), though we are sometimes able to make exceptions for a longer trip and are also open to weekend trips in Europe. We are able to arrange to stay elsewhere for a non-simultaneous exchange.

This summer (2013) we are looking for an exchange in Europe for 1-2 weeks. For future travels we are also open to exchanges in the U.S and the rest of the world.
